Reviews for Linda Charnes
"Linda is truly gifted in her work. It’s been nearly four years, and yet I continue to be humbled by her compassion, dedication, and unwavering support.
On an individual basis, Linda has guided me through various life stages, my career, as well as the darkest days of my traumas without any judgment or sense of obligation; I am a patient, but am treated as a human being first and foremost (ironically, a Herculean achievement to find within NYC behavioral health professionals).
Linda is a pioneer in what I dub “holistic healing” by incorporating other facets of one’s life such as interpersonal relationships. With that being said, my partner and I share the unique experience of meeting with Linda as a couple as well as individually in separate sessions. What seemed an unorthodox approach has been our greatest ally, all the while maintaining our respective boundaries and confidentiality.
Linda’s work challenges us to dig deeper in our quest to learn, love, and accept our ever-evolving selves and one another. There are not enough words to express my/our gratitude for the lessons and growth she brings to our lives.
I highly recommend Linda for anyone looking to make a positive change and embrace their true authenticity."
"I found Linda during one of the most difficult times of my life. After trying a couple other people she was the first to call me back in a timely manner and was the first to truly hear me and my needs. I have continued to work with Linda for many years at this point and she not only helped me through a time of crisis but has been a constant through many phases of my life leading me to a space that is more grounded, reflective and happy."
"The extent to which Linda has been a blessing and savior in my healing journey is nearly impossible to communicate in just one review.
In over 1.5 years of sessions, Linda has found a way to peer into my soul and to help me see the love and beauty that lies underneath decades of negative beliefs and self-deprecation. Her approach is gentle yet effective—always encouraging me to look deeper within myself, so that any breakthroughs or deep work happens naturally, safely, and without interference. Going above and beyond the call of duty is simply the norm in her practice; she ensures that my well-being is taken care of no matter the situation and that I know I am cared about. She stands up for my progress when it becomes so easy to deny it on a challenging day and meets me where I am during each session, allowing them to play out as authentically as possible. Linda's passion for her work also reassures me that I have found a home within our time together and I simply cannot recommend her enough to anyone who needs extra support in their life.
"I've been working with Linda for the last year and she has helped me gain considerable insight into my inner world. She has been instrumental in helping me form a more gentle relationship with myself and with my loved ones. Linda has helped me feel less alone in the struggles of being a human and has done so with immense empathy and understanding.
I am a better person because of our work together and I can't recommend her services enough."
I have seen Linda for almost 7 years. She has helped me immensely overcome several obstacles. I have a better understanding of myself. She is dedicated, compassionate, professional and unbelievably knowledgeable. I highly recommend working with her."
"It would be impossible for me to overstate how important Linda has been in my life.
For nearly 6 years we have worked together on a weekly basis. As is often the case, I was introduced to Linda during a very difficult part of my life, thinking I just needed her to get me through that rough patch. Like many solution-oriented people I told myself, "Fix this and then you'll be back on track".
In reality, what I found was a caring, extremely patient, understanding and vastly knowledgable guide in an ongoing path of learning new perspectives and self-awareness. Something that continues to this day regardless of whether we're talking about crushing loss or the mundanities of everyday life. Linda's approach is not one-size-fits-all. She truly takes the time to get to know you and, although I'm not a therapist, I can tell this because she is so intimately involved in my well-being without ever feeling the need to express her personal feelings (unless specifically asked) or quote overly therapeutic terminology or references. It really feels like a conversation. Linda challenges you to dig deeper in understanding your true self. She is truly remarkable - not once in our 6 years of working has she ever missed a detail, failed to recall important information, or misremembered a previous session. She gives me the understanding to go about life in a more joyful way.
I very rarely push therapy onto others because I understand that people must come to their own decisions. But taking the step to talk to Linda continues to be one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found someone that understands and cares about me as much as Linda. I couldn't recommend her any more highly."
"I am eternally grateful for Linda Charnes.
When I found Linda, I was in one of the darkest places of my life, overtaken by depression, anxiety, and insomnia. It was hard to live and perform basic daily tasks. Our work together has been intense, with two weekly double-sessions, but has allowed me to get to know myself in ways I couldn’t have otherwise imagined. My journey with Linda has changed my perspective towards life, and helped me become a more conscious, aware and independent human being.
Linda’s support, diligence, and open perspective have allowed me grow at my own pace, and I feel a new sense of readiness toward my future and goals. All I can really say is thank you, Linda, for always helping me from the most genuine place in your heart. I don’t know where I’d be without you!"
"Linda has helped me through many life phases and continues to do so. She is professional, reliable, thoughtful, and I would recommend her to anybody in need of some introspection."
